  4. Whisk beaten eggs with a cup of hot pudding mixture to temper the eggs.
  5. Return the tempered egg mixture to the pudding base, cooking on low until gentle boil.
  6. Stir in vanilla, then let cool for 15 minutes.
  7. Layer 25 vanilla wafers, half the bananas, and half the pudding in a square pan.
