Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, Chinese five-spice powder, and sesame oil. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Place chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag. Pour half the marinade over the chicken and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  4. Remove chicken from the refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange chicken evenly on it.
  5. Bake chicken in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Transfer the reserved marinade to a saucepan, boil over medium heat, then simmer for about 10 minutes until thickened.
  7. Brush thickened marinade over cooked chicken and switch oven to broil for 2-3 minutes, watching closely.
  8. Allow chicken to rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.
