  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar Replace with coconut sugar for a lower glycemic index.
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Light brown and dark brown sugar can be used interchangeably.
  • 2 large Eggs Use flaxseed meal mixed with water for a vegan alternative.
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Whole wheat flour can be used for a nuttier flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder Make sure it’s fresh for best results.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt Use kosher salt for a heartier taste.
For the Caramel Layer
  • 1 cup Caramel Sauce Homemade caramel can be made with sugar and cream.
For the Chocolate Drizzle
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips Dark or white chocolate can be used for varied taste profiles.

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • electric mixer
  • Baking Sheet
  • parchment paper
  • cookie scoop
  • microwave-safe bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Portion out the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each scoop. Press an indentation in the center of each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are golden and centers are slightly soft.
  8. Once cooled slightly, spoon caramel sauce into the indentations you made.
  9. Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over the cookies, allowing the chocolate to set before serving.
