  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the strawberry cake mix, melted butter, and egg until you have a smooth dough.

  3. Refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheets.
  5. Shape the chilled dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place them on the baking sheets.
  6. Optionally, roll each ball in powdered sugar or pink granulated sugar before baking.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are set but centers are still soft.
  8. Let cool for 1-2 minutes, then press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
  9. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
