Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine room temperature mascarpone cheese with sifted powdered sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy for 2-3 minutes.
- In another bowl, whip the chilled heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form, about 3-5 minutes. Fold into the mascarpone mixture until well blended.
- In a shallow dish, combine freshly squeezed orange juice and half of the orange liqueur. Allow to sit while preparing ladyfingers.
- Dip each ladyfinger into the orange juice mixture for about a second on each side, then arrange in a single layer in a serving dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers, drizzle half of the strawberry preserve, and add half of the sliced strawberries.
- Repeat the layers with remaining ingredients, finishing with drizzled orange liqueur over the top layer.
- Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, dust with powdered sugar if desired.
