Ingredients
  

For the Tofu Base
  • 1 cup Silken Tofu Avoid using extra-firm tofu for a traditional experience.
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Soy Milk Opt for plain soy milk without additives.
For the Syrup
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar The star of the arnibal syrup.
  • 1/2 cup Water Essential for dissolving the agar-agar.
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract Optional; adds extra flavor.
For the Gelling Agent
  • 1 tbsp Agar-Agar Powder A vegetarian alternative providing a firmer texture.
For the Chewy Component
  • 1/2 cup Sago Pearls Choose between white or brown sago pearls.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Begin by gently warming the silken tofu in a steamer or microwave for about 1–2 minutes until it's just heated through.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of unsweetened soy milk over low heat for about 3 minutes.
  3. Mix 1 tablespoon of agar-agar powder with 1/2 cup of water until well combined.
  4. Pour the agar-agar mixture into the warmed soy milk, stirring until dissolved.
  5. Carefully pour your soy mixture over the prepared silken tofu in cups and let it sit for about 15 minutes.
  6. In a medium saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of water over medium heat to create syrup.
  7. Add vanilla extract in the last minute of cooking, if desired.
  8. In a pot, bring 3 cups of water to a boil, add 1/2 cup of sago pearls, and cook for about 15 minutes.
  9. Layer the set tofu with arnibal syrup and cooked sago pearls to serve.

Notes
