Preparation Steps
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and carefully place the whole cabbage head in it for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine your choice of ground meat with rinsed rice, finely chopped onions, and spices.
  3. Take a prepared cabbage leaf and place about 2 tablespoons of the filling at the base of the leaf.
  4. In a large pot, arrange the cabbage rolls seam-side down, fitting them snugly together.
  5. Cover the pot with a lid and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer over low heat for about 1.5 to 2 hours.
  6. Once cooked, carefully remove the pot from heat and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
