Cooking Steps
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add short pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Whisk in flour and stir continuously for about a minute until golden and bubbly.
  3. Gradually pour in heavy cream while whisking, heating until thickened and bubbly. Lower heat and add Boursin cheese and cheddar, stirring until melted.
  4. Fold the cooked pasta into the cheese sauce, ensuring each piece is coated. Allow to sit for a few minutes.
  5. In a skillet, melt butter and add breadcrumbs. Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Preheat broiler to high. Transfer mac and cheese into a greased baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and broil for 2-3 minutes until crispy. Serve warm.
