- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
- Layer thawed hashbrowns evenly across the bottom of the baking pan.
- Cook sausage and diced onion over medium heat for about 10 minutes until browned.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs with milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture over the hashbrowns, sprinkle half of the cheese on top.
- Add the cooked sausage and onion mixture, then top with remaining cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour. Then uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden.
- Cool for 5 minutes, then slice and serve warm.
